Are Near-Death Experiences Real?

Bruce Greyson, M.D., Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia, has studied near-death experiences for more than 45 years and is one of the world’s leading experts on their science and significance. In this talk, Greyson lays out, convincingly, the reasons why Near Death Experiences more closely resemble real (or hyperreal) experiences, rather than dreams or hallucinations. Greyson's claims are backed by studies which show: Memories of NDEs, when recalled in an MRI, show the same brain activity as memories of physical events, rather than what appears when recalling a dream or imagining a fantasy. Profound aftereffects and changes of personality followed by an NDE. Clear retention of NDE memories after a decade or more.
